SOS certified its HIPAA capabilities with Claredi, an EDI testing service. Claredi provides HIPAA compliance testing and certification for Medicare Carriers, Fiscal Intermediaries, and DMERCs. By testing and obtaining certification with Claredi, SOS has demonstrated, via a third party testing company, that SOS software and systems can create HIPAA-compliant files in accordance with the final rule governing transaction standards and code sets. Vendors who achieve certification are not required to test with intermediaries, however at this time SOS does plan on taking the extra step of testing with each intermediary to ensure system compatibility. This testing will begin once the intermediaries are ready to accept test submissions.
